<Kompositionen IV>

Banz & Bowinkels series „Kompositionen” takes up the concept of “photography without a camera”. Inspired by the photographic experiments of the 1920s, the camera lens here is directed at the virtual world and shows computer-generated arrangements of geometric shapes in digital space: cubes, pyramids, cylinders and cones captivate with their visual realism and thus conceal the fact that these “computational photographs” are purely virtual products. Documents of a world that has become an invisible and self-evident part of the reality of our lives. “What you see is what you see.” said Frank Stella in 1958 in his minimalist concept. In the new series by Banz & Bowinkel, this statement is given a new, radical twist.
